Central venous pressure monitoring in severe preeclampsia: a survey of UK practice

Preeclampsia remains a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality in the UK, and fluid management in these patients may be difficult.

Lewis G, editor. The Confidential Enquiry into Maternal and Child Health (CEMACH); Saving Mothers’ Lives: Reviewing maternal deaths to make motherhood safer 2003-2005. The Seventh Report of the Confidential Enquiries into Maternal Deaths in the United Kingdom. London; CEMACH: 2007.

Central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring has been recommended to guide fluid therapy in preeclampsia, but its value is uncertain.
