The management of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) requires a multidisciplinary team
approach. Severe bleeding during the surgery for PAS and some hemostatic procedures
including vascular occlusion demand the special attention of anesthesiologists. Obstetric
anesthesiologists and obstetricians should have a common and consistent terminology
to describe this condition. Bloom et al.’s recent article in this journal is timely.
