Automated physician alerts for postpartum hemorrhage after vaginal delivery: a prospective pilot study to evaluate a 500 mL trigger threshold

      Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) continues to be a leading cause of preventable maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide. An analysis of United States (US) deliveries from 2010 to 2014 demonstrated an increased incidence of PPH across time (2.9–3.2%), along with increasing morbidity from acute renal failure.
