IJOA Fellow
The Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association, associated societies and Elsevier, the publishers, are pleased to invite applications for the role of ‘International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia (IJOA) Fellow’. This role is open to anaesthesiologists in-training or within five years of obtaining their specialist qualification or recognition. It is an honorary position that is not remunerated and would be undertaken in conjunction with the applicant’s usual employment.
The successful appointee will be exposed to both the editorial and (to a lesser extent) production aspects of the journal. Their principal role is to advance the journal through social media and promote newly published articles through the journal’s Twitter account. Other experiences will be reviewing submissions, contributing to editorial processes and undertaking other journal activities, as requested, under the supervision of current editorial and production staff. There will be the opportunity to attend meetings of the journal’s Executive and Editorial Boards.
Applicants should include a two-page (maximum) curriculum vitae that includes a statement (in no more than 500 words) explaining the reasons for their application. Applications will be judged by the IJOA Executive Board on the basis of -
- Being a current member of the OAA or SOAP
- Evidence of a demonstrable interest in areas such as research, medical publication and social media
- A vision for the journal
The term is 24 months, commencing in April 2022.
